My name is Jaimie. I am Mum to Sophie (born 2007), Heidi (born 2009) and Thomas (born 2014), and stepmum to Amelia (born 2005).
I grew up in New Zealand, in a small coastal town called Whangarei, in a rural district they called "The Winterless North". With five siblings and uncountable cousins, there were always babies and children around when we were growing up and we all looked out for each other.
Having my children in the UK, away from my family, has really made me appreciate how important it is to grow your own little community for support when you have a baby, whether this be close friends, extended family, other new mums, or doulas! Understanding how valuable this support network is is what lead me to creating Supporting Mums.
I aim to work flexibly with you, to tailor support to your family's individual needs and wants. I have a wealth of resources, contacts and a great listening ear to support you in making choices that are best for you and your family.
As your postanatal doula, I am here to support you in any way possible; helping around the house, helping with baby, cooking, errands, a shoulder to cry on, tea and cake!
Social meet ups for Mums
I hold coffee mornings for expectant and new Mums through the NCT. They're a great place to meet other Mums, share experiences, and make friends. You dont need to be a member of the NCT to come along.
I am a trained IAIM infant massage instructor. I hold group sessions or one-to-one classes, promoting bonding, love and communication through nurturing touch.
Workshops for girls
Coming soon - Supporting Mums is working on creating workshops for pree-teen girls, developing strong, resilient skills needed for the teenage years and beyond.
As your birth doula, I am here to help you prepare to have the birth you want. I'll then be with you from when you go into labour, throughout your birth, until you and baby are tucked up together with a nice cup of tea.
I provide a night nanny service, taking care of baby/babies from bedtime until morning, so that parents can have a full nights sleep.
“An enormous thank you for your support and company over the last week. You made my first week alone a much more enjoyable experience and you have been amazing with the girlies. I hope our paths cross in the future”
